Three Ways To Reuse Waste From Your Tree Removal

There are times when trees become too much of a danger for personal property and need to be removed. You may not only need to have the tree removed, but also pay to have the debris hauled off. This can be an extra cost, but there are other things that you can do when removing and old tree. Materials can be use for things like lumber, wood chips and even barbeque wood. Here are some things to do with different types of wood you have removed from your home:

1. Using Beetle Kill Pine For Unique Color Lumber

Pines can be dangerous trees to have near your home. In some areas, these trees have been killed by a beetle infestation, which also has an unusual benefit. The beetle kill pine has a unique color to it that makes it very valuable. Beetle kill lumber is filled with different tones of blues and yellows. This makes it a great material to use for different types of woodworking projects. If you have to have trees cut down due to beetles, you can save the lumber and use it for unique wood projects with interesting colors. 

2. Creating BBQ Materials From Aging Hardwood Materials

Many woods can be a great material for BBQ wood. The good news is that you can even use trimmings to create fuel materials. These can be woods like oak, walnut and hickory tree species. You can use wood for smoking meats or you can create your own charcoal. To create the charcoal, you will want to burn the wood in a pit and put it out when there is only embers. To clean the charcoal, put it on a screen and rinse the ash to get only the solid material.

3. Mulching Materials From Old Pines To Create Ground Cover

You may need to have different evergreen species like pines removed because of other reasons besides insects. If you have to have pine trees removed, you can have the wood chipped to make mulch and ground cover for your landscaping. To chip all the materials, you will need to split the trunks into small enough pieces to be put through a chipper. You can rent larger chippers to handle more materials and bigger branches.
